About Ghostrunner
Developed by Polish studio One More Level in collaboration with 3D Realms and Slipgate Ironworks, and published by 505 Games, Ghostrunner is a critically acclaimed, high-speed first-person cyberpunk action slasher. Set in a bleak dystopian future following a cataclysmic environmental collapse known as 'The Burst,' the remnants of human civilization are confined within Dharma Tower, a colossal vertical megastructure ruled by the tyrannical Mara the Keymaster. Players assume the role of Jack (Ghostrunner-74), the last surviving member of an elite cybernetic peacekeeping unit, who is salvaged and reactivated by an underground rebel faction known as the Climbers. Guided by the digitized consciousness of the tower's original creator, the Architect, Jack must ascend the dangerous levels of Dharma Tower from the grimy industrial slums of the Base to the gleaming, opulent heights of the Penthouse. Driven by unforgiving 'one-hit-one-kill' mechanics where both Jack and enemies perish in a single strike, the gameplay seamlessly weaves high-momentum parkour—wall-running, air-dashing in bullet-time Sensory Boost, grappling with the Gapjammer, and sliding—with surgical katana combat and reality-bending cybernetic abilities.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best laptop to play Ghostrunner?
The 'best' laptop depends on your budget and desired performance (resolution and graphics settings). Our guide provides tailored recommendations, from budget-friendly options for 1080p gaming to high-end machines capable of 4K with ray tracing for Ghostrunner. Check our 'Recommended' or 'High' tier sections for a great balance of price and performance.
Can I play Ghostrunner without buying a new gaming laptop?
Yes! If you don't want to spend $800–$2,000+ on a new gaming laptop, you can play Ghostrunner via cloud gaming platforms like Boosteroid. Boosteroid streams the game in 1080p, 1440p (2K), or 4K at 60+ FPS directly to your browser on any existing budget laptop, MacBook, or mobile device with zero downloads or hardware heating.
How much RAM do I need for Ghostrunner?
While the minimum requirement might be 8GB, we strongly recommend at least 16GB of RAM for a smooth gaming experience in Ghostrunner. This allows the game to run effectively while also handling background processes from your operating system without performance drops.
Is an SSD required to play Ghostrunner?
While not always a strict requirement, an SSD (Solid State Drive) is highly recommended for Ghostrunner. It dramatically reduces loading times, getting you into the game faster and eliminating stutters when the game loads new areas. All our recommended laptops feature an SSD as standard.
How important is the GPU's TGP (Total Graphic Power) for Ghostrunner?
TGP is very important. Two laptops with the same GPU, like an RTX 4060, can have very different performance levels. A higher TGP (measured in watts) allows the GPU to run faster and deliver more frames per second. We specify target TGP values in our requirement tiers where possible to help you choose a laptop that performs as expected.
