About God of War
God of War (2018) marks a new beginning for Kratos. Years after his vengeance against the Gods of Olympus, Kratos now lives as a man in the realm of Norse gods and monsters. It is in this harsh, unforgiving world that he must fight to survive, and teach his son, Atreus, to do the same. Following the death of his wife Faye, Kratos and Atreus embark on a deeply personal journey to fulfill her last wish: to scatter her ashes from the highest peak in all the Nine Realms. This quest forces Kratos to confront his rage, embrace his role as a father and mentor, and battle a new pantheon of formidable gods and creatures from Norse mythology. The game features a rebuilt combat system, an over-the-shoulder camera, and a strong narrative focus on the father-son dynamic.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best laptop to play God of War?
The 'best' laptop depends on your budget and desired performance (resolution and graphics settings). Our guide provides tailored recommendations, from budget-friendly options for 1080p gaming to high-end machines capable of 4K with ray tracing for God of War. Check our 'Recommended' or 'High' tier sections for a great balance of price and performance.
How much RAM do I need for God of War?
While the minimum requirement might be 8GB, we strongly recommend at least 16GB of RAM for a smooth gaming experience in God of War. This allows the game to run effectively while also handling background processes from your operating system without performance drops.
Is an SSD required to play God of War?
While not always a strict requirement, an SSD (Solid State Drive) is highly recommended for God of War. It dramatically reduces loading times, getting you into the game faster and eliminating stutters when the game loads new areas. All our recommended laptops feature an SSD as standard.
How important is the GPU's TGP (Total Graphic Power) for God of War?
TGP is very important. Two laptops with the same GPU, like an RTX 4060, can have very different performance levels. A higher TGP (measured in watts) allows the GPU to run faster and deliver more frames per second. We specify target TGP values in our requirement tiers where possible to help you choose a laptop that performs as expected.
