About Rage 2
Rage 2 is a first-person shooter set in a vibrant, post-apocalyptic open world, 30 years after the events of the original Rage. An asteroid has annihilated 80% of Earth's population, leaving behind a chaotic wasteland roamed by savage gangs, grotesque mutants, and the tyrannical Authority. Players assume the role of Walker, the last Ranger of Vineland, who after being robbed of home and left for dead, must rage for justice and freedom. The game combines id Software's intense FPS combat with Avalanche Studios' open-world and vehicular mayhem expertise. Walker can utilize a wide array of upgradable weapons, devastating Nanotrite superpowers (like Slam, Shatter, and Overdrive), and pilot various wasteland vehicles to traverse the diverse biomes and crush the oppressive rule of General Cross and The Authority.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best laptop to play Rage 2?
The 'best' laptop depends on your budget and desired performance (resolution and graphics settings). Our guide provides tailored recommendations, from budget-friendly options for 1080p gaming to high-end machines capable of 4K with ray tracing for Rage 2. Check our 'Recommended' or 'High' tier sections for a great balance of price and performance.
How much RAM do I need for Rage 2?
While the minimum requirement might be 8GB, we strongly recommend at least 16GB of RAM for a smooth gaming experience in Rage 2. This allows the game to run effectively while also handling background processes from your operating system without performance drops.
Is an SSD required to play Rage 2?
While not always a strict requirement, an SSD (Solid State Drive) is highly recommended for Rage 2. It dramatically reduces loading times, getting you into the game faster and eliminating stutters when the game loads new areas. All our recommended laptops feature an SSD as standard.
How important is the GPU's TGP (Total Graphic Power) for Rage 2?
TGP is very important. Two laptops with the same GPU, like an RTX 4060, can have very different performance levels. A higher TGP (measured in watts) allows the GPU to run faster and deliver more frames per second. We specify target TGP values in our requirement tiers where possible to help you choose a laptop that performs as expected.
