What is pity in Wuthering Waves?

Pity is a system that guarantees you will receive a 5-star character or weapon after a certain number of pulls. In Wuthering Waves, hard pity for a 5-star is at 80 pulls on all banners. This means if you do 79 pulls without getting a 5-star, your 80th pull is guaranteed to be one.

What is the 50/50 system?

The 50/50 system applies to the Character Event Convene. When you pull a 5-star character, there is a 50% chance it will be the featured character on the banner and a 50% chance it will be a different, standard 5-star character. If you get a standard character (lose the 50/50), your next 5-star pull on that banner is 100% guaranteed to be the featured character.

Wuthering Waves Pity System Explained

Pity is a gacha game mechanic that guarantees a high-rarity item after a certain number of pulls. Here's how it works in WuWa:

Hard Pity: You are guaranteed a 5-star character or weapon on your 80th pull on any banner if you haven't received one already.
Soft Pity: While not officially confirmed, chances of pulling a 5-star dramatically increase starting around pull 65-70.
The 50/50: On the Character Event banner, your first 5-star has a 50% chance to be the featured character. If it's not, you've "lost the 50/50," and your next 5-star on that banner is 100% guaranteed to be the featured one.
Pity Resets: Your pity count for a banner resets to 0 whenever you pull a 5-star item from that banner.
