Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is Madness in Wu Chang: Fallen Feathers?

Madness is a core statistic in Wu Chang: Fallen Feathers that represents your character's mental state. As it increases, you deal more damage but also take more damage. High levels of Madness unlock special skill effects but come with severe penalties, such as losing all your Hong Lian (XP) on death and triggering a fight with your Inner Devil.

How do you lower Madness in Wu Chang?

You can lower Madness by defeating feathered enemies, using special consumable pills, offering Divine Gift items at shrines, or by defeating a major boss or your Inner Devil, which completely resets your Madness to zero.

What happens when you die at max Madness?

Dying with your Madness meter at 90% or above will cause you to lose all of your held Hong Lian. An 'Inner Devil,' a doppelgÀnger of your character, will manifest where you died. You must return and defeat it to restore your sanity, though the Hong Lian from that death is permanently lost.
