The Arabian Rose Grey Bay is considered the best overall horse with 32 total stats (10 Health, 10 Stamina, 6 Speed, 6 Acceleration). However, the "best" horse depends on your needs:

• Overall Best: Arabian Rose Grey Bay
• Best for Combat: Turkoman (any coat) - excellent health and less skittish
• Best for Speed: Thoroughbred Brindle or Missouri Fox Trotter
• Best for Free Horse: White Arabian from Lake Isabella

The White Arabian can be found wild on the west bank of Lake Isabella in the snowy mountains. Follow these steps:

1. Travel to Lake Isabella (northwest of Valentine)
2. Look for the horse on the western shore
3. Approach slowly with your weapon holstered
4. Calm the horse when it gets agitated
5. Mount when close enough and break it in

Note: This horse is available from Chapter 2 onwards and respawns if lost.
