Far Cry 4 plunges players into Kyrat, a breathtaking, perilous, and wild region of the Himalayas struggling under the despotic regime of the self-appointed king, Pagan Min. Players take on the role of Ajay Ghale, a Kyrati-American who returns to his homeland to fulfill his mother's dying wish: to scatter her ashes in Lakshmana. Ajay quickly becomes entangled in a brutal civil war between Pagan Min's oppressive Royal Army and the Golden Path, a rebel movement co-founded by his own parents. Gameplay emphasizes exploration of a vast open world, utilizing a diverse arsenal of weapons, vehicles (including the Buzzer gyrocopter and rideable elephants), and leveraging the environment and wildlife to overcome challenges.
