Expedition: Into Darkness is a hardcore, third-person medieval dungeon crawler and extraction looter developed by Swedish independent studio Antediluvian Interactive. Set in a decaying grimdark realm bordering cosmic horror, players step into the boots of desperate scavengers who venture beneath ancient ruins in pursuit of lost antediluvian technology, eldritch relics, and untold riches. The game features high-stakes PvE extraction gameplay underpinned by true permanent character death, where falling in the depths means permanently losing your explorer and all carried gear. Survival demands mastery of tactical four-directional melee combat, modular equipment assembly, and managing light sources amidst pitch-black subterranean labyrinths infested with monstrous fleshkin, unyielding bonekin, and devious subterranean hazards.
